I received my doctoral degree from The Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP) at Rutgers, The State University of NJ and completed my Internship at the Devereaux Foundation in Devon, PA, a residential treatment center for troubled adolescents.
Early in my career, I was drawn to the challenges children and adolescents experienced at home, in school and socially. My professional experience began at the Midland School in Branchburg, NJ, a school for special education. From there, I joined the outpatient clinical team at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), Community Mental Health Center in New Brunswick to help start a child and adolescent treatment track. Through that experience, my practice had grown to include adults, couples and a broad range of mental health problems. I have been in private practice for over 20 years.
I enjoy my work very much and bring to it a sound base of knowledge. I am licensed to practice in NJ, am a NJ Certified School Psychologist and hold a certificate in Hypnosis from the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis. I have had formal postgraduate training in Family Therapy and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. I have had advanced training in Mindfulness approaches to Emotion Regulation and Stress Reduction, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for depression and anxiety and as a Parent Coordinator in divorce matters. As an avid believer in continuing education, I attend several conferences a year on a variety of topics and participate in peer consultation groups. Staying abreast of developments in the field allows me to bring the latest ideas to my work.
I am actively involved in professional organizations and community service. I served as President of Mercer County Psychological Association for 5 years and now serve as Past President and Chair of the Website Committee. My community service includes a number of free workshops on topics such as ADHD, Parenting, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Resiliency and Performance Enhancement for Athletes.
